“Following a couple of abortive attempts to obtain an RT licence, we were recommended to
try planespeak. A two day course was booked and we met at Halfpenny Green Airfield for 2
gruelling days of instruction, the written exam. and the practical. The instructor was extremely
patient, professional and very thorough in covering the essentials of what was required of us
in order to obtain the qualification. By the end of day 1 we had both passed the written paper
with a pass mark over 90%. Day 2 was equally structured in an unambiguous and skilfull
way so that when we came to put on the headphones and respond to the reply ‘Pass Your
Message’ we were both sufficiently well trained that we also passed that aspect with flying
